Digital Factory 12 Direct to Film (DTF) RIP Software
Fiery Digital Factory 12 – Direct to Film RIP Software
Digital Factory 12 is Fiery's RIP and workflow software built specifically for Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing. It handles everything between artwork and finished transfer — layout, gang sheets, white underbase, color management, and print queueing — in one platform, so you're not stitching together separate tools to get a shirt-ready print. Whether you're running a single desktop DTF printer out of a garage or a multi-printer production floor, there's a Digital Factory 12 edition built for your setup.
Choose Your Edition
Both editions run the full Digital Factory 12 DTF workflow — the only difference is which printers they're licensed to drive. Pick based on your printer's size, not on which "feels" more professional; the software itself is identical.
Digital Factory 12 Direct to Film Edition
Built for production floors. Licensed for A1 and larger sheet-fed printers, or roll-fed printers 24"/60cm and wider. Supports multi-printer environments, advanced queue management, and high-volume, high-throughput DTF production.
Digital Factory 12 Direct to Film Desktop Edition
Built for smaller shops and side-hustle printers. Licensed for A2 or smaller sheet-fed printers, or roll-fed printers up to 17"/43.2cm wide. Same core RIP engine and workflow tools as the Production Edition, sized for entry-level DTF printers.
Upgrade to Direct to Film Edition from Desktop Edition
Outgrowing your desktop printer? This upgrade path moves an existing Digital Factory 12 Direct to Film Desktop Edition license up to the full Direct to Film Edition so you can license a larger production printer — without buying the software twice.
What You Get With Digital Factory 12
- Gang Sheet Builder — import multiple designs and lay out gang sheets inside Digital Factory, with nesting or free-form layout and automatic cropping. No separate gang sheet software or subscription needed.
- Highlight White Underbase — Fiery's patented single-pass white underbase produces brighter whites and more vibrant color in one pass instead of two.
- Variable Data Wizard — automatically edit and swap design elements across a run for personalized or repeat orders.
- Multi-lane printing — split wide-format media into independent lanes so multiple jobs print in parallel instead of one at a time.
- Fluorescents printed as process color — vibrant fluorescent output straight out of the RIP, no manual spot color workaround required.
- Saturation rendering intent — a DTF-specific rendering mode that boosts color vibrancy, especially in mid-tones, while keeping skin tones natural.
- Design app integration — works directly with Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW.
- Workflow automation — hot folders and barcode processing to cut down on manual job handling.
Add-Ons to Extend Your Workflow
Every edition above can be configured with one or both of these add-ons at checkout — pick the variant that matches what you need:
Fiery Color Profiler
Adds professional ICC color profiling to Digital Factory 12, built on the same profiling technology behind Fiery Edge. Use it with a supported spectrophotometer to build custom printer/ink/media profiles, set individual per-channel ink limits to cut waste and prevent bleeding, and manage spot colors with an updated PANTONE®-current library. Requires a valid Digital Factory 12 license.
Digital Factory Contour Cutting Module
Adds contour/cut-path cutting support so you can route a cut line around printed graphics instead of printing flat sheets only. Useful for DTF shops that also need to cut shapes out of a printed roll or sheet as part of the finishing process.
Need to Run More Than One Printer?
Additional printer licensing is available if you're scaling past a single DTF printer on one Digital Factory 12 license — Desktop and Production editions each have their own add-on printer license. Contact us for a quote to add a second printer to your license.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the Desktop and Direct to Film Edition?
Only the printer size they're licensed for. Desktop Edition covers A2/17" and smaller printers; the Direct to Film Edition covers A1/24" and larger. The RIP engine, gang sheet builder, white underbase, and color tools are identical in both.
Can I upgrade later if I outgrow my desktop printer?
Yes — the Upgrade to Direct to Film Edition from Desktop Edition SKU moves your existing Desktop license up to the Production-level Direct to Film Edition without repurchasing the software from scratch.
Will Digital Factory 12 work with my DTF printer?
Digital Factory supports most major DTF printer brands, including Epson, Brother, Ricoh, and Roland. If you're not sure your printer is supported, reach out to us before you buy and we'll confirm compatibility.
Do I need the Fiery Color Profiler add-on?
Not to print — Digital Factory ships with default color profiles out of the box. The Color Profiler add-on is for shops that want to build custom ICC profiles for a specific printer/ink/media combination, set per-channel ink limits, or manage brand-accurate spot colors.
Is technical support included?
Digital Factory includes free access to the Fiery Communities knowledge base. We also offer direct setup, calibration, and training support when you buy through Color Gamut Consulting.
