A color chart built from your printer, not somebody else's

Most DTF and DTG color charts you can buy designed on a computer screen and they carry a disclaimer for a reason: the colors are accurate for screen and may not match yours.

This is the opposite. You send us the ICC profile for your printer. We read it, map the exact range of color your machine can reproduce, and build a 600-swatch chart with hex codes for that specific printer, ink, film and resolution combination. Nothing generic about it.

Delivered automatically, in minutes. Upload, check out, and your files arrive by email while you're still at your desk. No queue, no waiting on a technician.

Every color on this chart is in your printers gamut!

This is the important part, and it works in both directions.

Every one of the 600 swatches is inside your printer's gamut. Each color is verified against your profile before it goes on the chart. If it is printed on this chart, your machine can actually reproduce it — no guessing, no colors that look great on screen and collapse on film.

Your printer prints far more colors than 600. The chart is a map of your gamut, not a limit on it. Your printer can produce hundreds of thousands of colors, and the vast majority of them are not on this sheet. Anything you design that falls inside the gamut will print, whether or not it appears here.

Colors outside the gamut still print — they just shift. When a design calls for a color your printer cannot physically make, the RIP substitutes the nearest color it can. That is what causes a vivid on-screen green to come off the press looking muted. The value of this chart is that it shows you where that boundary sits for your machine, so you can design inside it on purpose instead of discovering the limit after the film is printed.

What you get

  • Print-ready PDF — 13×19 in, true vector, tagged Adobe RGB (1998), with the hex code printed on every swatch. Fully editable in Illustrator.
  • 300 dpi PNG — 3900×5700 px with a transparent background, so no background ink is wasted and nothing unwanted transfers.
  • ASE swatch library — all 600 colors load straight into the Swatches panel in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, named by patch ID and hex code, grouped so you can find anything in seconds.
  • Interactive 3D gamut explorer — a single HTML file that opens in any browser. Rotate your printer's gamut in three dimensions, hover any swatch for its Lab and hex values, and slice through it hue by hue.
  • CSV data file — every patch with its hex, RGB, Lab, chroma and device values, for anyone who wants the raw numbers.

How the 600 colors are chosen

Not on a grid, and not from a stock palette. The chart is sampled from the shape of your own gamut:

  • 480 swatches across 24 hue families, each stepped through five lightness levels and four saturation levels, weighted toward the outer edge where printers actually differ from one another.
  • A 100-swatch peak ring — the single most saturated color your printer can produce at each of 100 hues. This is your machine's ceiling, and it is the row people quote when they ask how vivid a print can get.
  • A 20-step neutral ramp from pure black to pure white.

How it works

  1. Upload your ICC or ICM profile. We check it immediately and tell you if it can be processed— before you pay anything.
  2. Complete your order.
  3. Your files arrive by email within minutes, generated automatically.

Works with your setup

We handle RGB and CMYK output profiles, ICC v2 and v4, and profiles built by any RIP — Neostampa, EFI Fiery, Cadlink, ColorGATE, Wasatch, PrintFactory, i1Profiler, Copra and others. Extended-gamut ink sets are supported, including CMYK + ORGB or OGFloYFloM + W

If your profile cannot produce a usable chart for any reason, our upload check catches it up front and you are not charged.

Who this is for

DTF and DTG shops matching brand and spot colors. Print shops that want to hand customers a realistic palette instead of fielding "why doesn't this match" questions. Anyone who has just had a custom profile built and wants to see what it actually bought them. Designers who need to know a printer's limits before sending artwork rather than after.

Important, so there are no surprises

  • Your files are digital. You print the chart yourself, on the same printer, ink and film the profile was built for — that is the whole point. Nothing ships.
  • For DTF, press the chart onto fabric before using it as a reference. Color on film does not look like color on a garment.
  • The chart is only valid for the profile it was generated from. Change your ink, film, or pass count and you will want a new one.
  • Screen previews are not a proof. Your monitor cannot show some of the colors your printer can produce, and vice versa.

FAQ's

Are these the only colors my printer can print?
No. Every color on the chart is one your printer can reproduce, but your printer can produce millions more that are not on the sheet. The chart maps the range, it does not limit it.

What happens to colors that aren't on the chart?
If they are inside your printer's gamut, they print normally. If they are outside it, your RIP replaces them with the closest color it can reach — which is why some saturated colors come out looking flatter than expected. The chart shows you where that boundary is.

Why not just buy a generic DTF color chart?
A generic chart was printed on someone else's printer with their ink and film. The hex codes on it are accurate for their system. Yours is a different machine.

What if I don't have an ICC profile?
You need one for this product. Your RIP or printer supplier can usually provide the profile for your ink and film combination, or we can build a custom profile for your machine as a separate service.

Which printers and RIPs does this work with?
Any output profile — RGB or CMYK, ICC v2 or v4 — from any RIP. Extended-gamut ink sets included.

How many colors are on the chart?
600: 480 across 24 hue families, a 100-color peak ring at maximum saturation, and a 20-step neutral ramp.

Is the chart printed and shipped to me?
No, you get digital files and print it yourself on your own printer. That is what makes the colors match.

Can I use the swatches in Illustrator?
Yes. The ASE library loads all 600 colors into the Swatches panel. Set your document profile to Adobe RGB (1998) so the values match the printed chart.
